How to confirm your VELUX size is 606
606 is a legacy VELUX numeric size code from earlier roof windows. Because these pre-date the modern coding system, please double-check the code on the silver identification plate on the top edge of the sash before ordering.
Order using the model prefix and the 606 size code exactly as printed on the plate. There is no need to measure the window or the glass.
The 606 size is listed for these VELUX model prefixes: GDL, GEL, GFL, GGL, GGU, GHL, GHU, GIL, GIU, GPL, GPU, GTL, GTU, GXL, GXU, GZL, VFA, VFB, VFE, VIU. The prefix sits just before the size code on the same identification plate.
Fitting and aftercare
Every blind is made to fit your 606 window and is supplied ready to install, with step-by-step installation guides and videos on our how-to-install page.
Common questions
Do I need to measure my window to order a VELUX 606 blind?
No. 606 is the size code printed on the silver identification plate on the top edge of the sash. Open the window fully and order using the model prefix and the size code exactly as printed — we make the blind to fit them, so no measuring is needed.
Which fabrics are available for a VELUX 606?
For the 606 size we currently offer blackout, translucent (light-filtering), premium & wipe-clean fabrics — 38 blinds in total.
Is a solar motorised blind available for the 606?
Yes — the solar motorised upgrade is available for the 606 size. It runs on a rechargeable battery charged by a small solar panel, so no wiring is needed. The remote control is a separate optional add-on — an optional remote-control add-on is available; confirm the current option and price in the configurator. Motorised blinds take longer to produce; the estimate is shown before checkout.
Which VELUX window models use the 606 code?
The 606 size is listed for these VELUX model prefixes: GDL, GEL, GFL, GGL, GGU, GHL, GHU, GIL, GIU, GPL, GPU, GTL, GTU, GXL, GXU, GZL, VFA, VFB, VFE, VIU. Your prefix appears on the same identification plate, just before the size code.
I'm not sure this is my window code — what should I do?
Confirm the code on the silver identification plate on the top edge of the sash. If you're still unsure, send us a photo through our contact page or email info@bizzyblinds.ie and we'll help you identify the right blind.
