Every blind is made to your VELUX window code, so it fits the glass area of your roof window exactly. Choose blackout for attic bedrooms and nurseries, or light-filtering fabric where you want daylight without glare.

Blinds are made in Ireland and delivered nationwide. Manual operation is standard, and a solar motorised upgrade is available across the range.

Where do I find my VELUX window code?

Open the window fully and read the silver identification plate along the top of the sash. It shows a model prefix such as GGL or GGU followed by a size code such as MK04 or SK06. Enter both when you order.

Which VELUX sizes do you cover?

We make blinds for 141 VELUX size codes, and our VELUX range covers 20 model prefixes, including GGL, GGU, GPL, GPU, GHL, GXL, GZL and the VFA, VFB and VFE vertical elements. Enter both the prefix and the size code from your identification plate when you order. If your code isn't listed, send it to us and we'll confirm it.

Should I choose blackout or light-filtering for a VELUX window?

Blackout stops daylight at the glass and is the usual choice for attic bedrooms and nurseries. Light-filtering (translucent) fabric diffuses daylight instead, so the room stays bright without the glare — better for offices, kitchens and landings.

Are solar motorised VELUX blinds available?

Yes — the solar motorised upgrade is available across the VELUX range. It runs on a rechargeable battery charged by a small solar panel, so no wiring or electrician is needed. The remote control is a separate optional add-on — an optional remote-control add-on is available; confirm the current option and price in the configurator. Motorised blinds take longer to produce than manual blinds; the estimate is shown before checkout.

What's the difference between modern and legacy VELUX codes?

Modern windows use two-letter/two-digit codes such as MK04 or SK06. Older windows use single-letter codes such as M04 or S06, and pre-2000s windows use numeric codes such as 304 or 606. All three families are covered — just confirm the code on the identification plate before ordering.
